The Winnipeg Jets are back in action against the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks have a new coach, Jeremy Colliton, who has shown promise in other leagues, but struggled in the NHL. That is probably not his fault though as the Hawks have been bad all season and Joel Quenneville was fired for that reason. The struggles of the Hawks have been a long time coming and some fans were already frustrated when they were making the playoffs, but not playing well. Now, they are just bad.

In the same hand, the Jets are still not playing up to last year’s standards, but they are far better than the Blackhawks. The Jets will make the playoffs with ease. It’s funny how there have been complaints about the Jets play from many people including myself and yet they are closing in on Nashville and Colorado for first in the Central Division.

The Jets are in a better place than they were a week ago with regards to the injuries on defence and it shows. Having Dustin Byfuglien back is a huge bonus for them and the fact they also got Josh Morrissey back means that as a team their defence is close to 100%. Now if they would only try Sami Niku with Byfugien…
