Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs Chicago Blackhawks

After a disappointing loss at home against the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Winnipeg Jets look to get back in the win column against the struggling Chicago Blackhawks. On the plus side for the Jets, The Hawks last game was an 8 – 3 blow out loss Tuesday night against the Vegas Golden Knights at home. Or perhaps that loss may motivate them more against the Jets. It’s been an eventful year for the Blackhawks starting with the November 6 firing of head coach Joel Quenneville who had been with them since 2008, including three Stanley Cup wins. He’s been replaced by Jeremy Colliton. Word is Quenneville won’t be out of work long if he so chooses.

The Blackhawks also made the biggest trade of the season so far sending Nick Schmaltz to the Arizona Coyotes in return for Dylan Strome (who scored in his Blackhawks debut) and Brendan Perlini. Early grades from most experts see that trade as pretty even, with the Blackhawks hoping that Strome can develop into a true second line center, with Perlini being the bonus solid bottom six addition.
