The Winnipeg Jets are playing in their first afternoon matinee of the season against the struggling Arizona Coyotes. The Coyotes have had good possession stats, but have struggled with scoring any type of goal. The Jets have looked off and yet still won some games because talent can overcome some of the time.

The Jets will be keeping their eyes on Clayton Keller as he was very dangerous in his rookie season. This would also normally be the time to mention new acquisition Alex Galchenyuk, but he is out with an injury. The Jets will be probably facing Antti Raanta in goal who was very good last season and was strong from the start of this season.

The Jets will be starting Laurent Brossoit, which is a smart move. Last year they played Connor Hellebuyck too much and it looked like he got tired at points. By playing Brossoit now, it is allowing Hellebuyck to stay rested and will allow for the Jets to play him more if anything comes up and they have to ride him for a stretch.

As for the Jets lines; it is likely they will stay the same. What would be interesting is if Paul Maurice would change up his usage and play the top line less and the fourth line more. All the lines have talent and the fourth line has the players needed to exploit some teams. We shall see if we get that tonight.

Speaking of the top line, Blake Wheeler has looked fine when it comes to the eye-test, but he has also struggled this year. Hopefully it is just a blip and not a sign of things to come (it would be really weird if it was not just a blip as he showed no signs of this happening last year).
