Right winger Jordin Tootoo has retired from pro hockey. Drafted in the fourth round, 98th overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft by the Nashville Predators, Tootoo has 161 points (65G, 96A) in 723 games, as well as 10 points (3G, 7A) in 42 playoff games for Nashville (2003/04-2011/12), Detroit (2012/13-2013/14), New Jersey (2014/15-2015/16), and Chicago (2016/17). Tootoo has career-highs of 24 assists and 30 points, in 2012 with Nashville, and 11 goals in 2008 with Nashville. Tootoo finished his last season in the NHL, 2016/17, with three points (2G, 1A) in 50 games for Chicago. Tootoo, 35, didn’t play last season despite being re-signed by Chicago, remaining on injured reserve with an upper-body injury until late November, after which point he was put on waivers and never played for AHL Rockford.
