The Winnipeg Jets and Edmonton Oilers are bringing back their rivalry for the fiftieth billionth time. The Jets have a formidable forward corps, but the Oilers have Connor McDavid and that is who they have to stop. The Oilers have not scored without McDavid being involved in it. He is that good (and yet all the media is talking about is Austen Matthews).
The Jets will probably be deploying Mark Scheifele or Adam Lowry to contain McDavid, but how much can he be contained without help from the defence and in the Jets case, the only help they can get there is the duo of Jacob Trouba and Josh Morrissey. Dustin Byfuglien remains day to day with an upper body injury.
Connor Hellebuyck is back between the pipes and ready to show that he is better than McDavid. The Jets have also scratched Kristian Vesalainen in favour of Brendan Lemieux.
