Winnipeg Jets waive Marko Dano

The Winnipeg Jets have waived forward Marko Dano, marking the return of Nic Petan from bereavement leave as a non-roster player.

Dano started off as a strong player who showed a lot of potential with the Columbus Blue Jackets, he struggled to establish himself after being traded to the Chicago Blackhawks for Brandon Saad. He was then traded to Winnipeg for Andrew Ladd and he has never been able to break into the lineup as a regular.

The fact that Dano had a promising start to his career and was able to drive possession as a rookie to barely playing last year will always be confusing. Either his fitness was horrible or Paul Maurice refused to change his lineup at all. Either way, last season probably ended any chance he had of making it in the NHL with the Jets.

If Dano does not get claimed, he will be sent down to the Manitoba Moose at 11:00 am tomorrow morning.
