Since rejoining his squad following the 2018 World Junior Hockey Championships, Vesalainen has eight points in four games. This guy is getting better by the day.
2. Brendan Lemieux (21) – Manitoba Moose (AHL) – 25GP – 9G – 16A – 25PTS – 73PIM
Might this piece of the Evander Kane trade turn into a difference maker? Only time will tell.
3. Nic Petan (22) – Manitoba Moose (AHL)- 32GP – 9G – 22A – 31PTS – 8PIM
I like Nic Petan. I think he has a permanent role in the NHL in his future. I just question whether or not it’s with the Jets.
4. Sami Niku (21) – Manitoba Moose (AHL) – 39GP – 8G – 19A – 27PTS – 16PIM
Toby Enstrom’s replacement continues to hum along nicely.
5. Mason Appleton (22) – Manitoba Moose (AHL) – 39GP – 12G – 23A – 35PTS – 20PIM
Tied for the team lead in points, this rookie has been quite the pleasant surprise.
6. Mikhail Berdin (19) – Sioux Falls Stampede (USHL) – 10GP – 10-5-1 – 2.76GAA – .924 SV% – 0 SO
It’s unfortunate he didn’t get into any games at the WJHC, especially with Russia crashing out earlier than usual.
7. Logan Stanley (19) – Kitchener Rangers (OHL) – 41 GP – 12G – 21A – 33PTS – 78PIM
He’s tall. So I like him. Was he worth a 1st round pick?
8. Erik Foley (20) – Providence (NCAA) – 23 GP – 13G – 15A – 28PTS – 12PIM
He’s been too good not to include. Scoring at a point per game pace in the NCAA isn’t easy, and he’s five points clear of that marker.
9. Skyler McKenzie (19) – Portland Winterhawks (WHL)- 44GP – 34G – 25A – 59PTS – 31PIM
Not bad for a 7th round pick.
10. Eric Comrie (22) – Manitoba Moose (AHL) – 11-6-1 – 2.71GAA – .912 SV% – 1 SO
