Preview: Edmonton Oilers at Winnipeg Jets

Game Time: 7:00 PM CST

TV: TSN3

Radio: TSN1290

The Winnipeg Jets are playing their second preseason game tonight against their old WHA rivals, the Edmonton Oilers. It is hard to say who the Oilers will be playing against the Jets tonight as their first pre-season game was a split-squad game against the Calgary Flames.

The Jets are looking to bounce back from their shootout defeat against the Minnesota Wild where they played a relatively strong pre-season squad. They look to be doing so again if the lines reporters have posted this morning are to be believed. This is both a good thing and a bad thing for the Jets: their players will have more time to develop chemistry and work out systems, but they will also be playing subpar lineups from other teams.

In goal, Steve Mason will see his first action in a Jets sweater. Assuming they go by the same plan that they did last game, he will play the entire game and be able to get into a rhythm before the season starts. If he has a rough start, it might simply be shaking off the rust and should be no concern at first.
