The Winnipeg Jets play the Toronto Maple Leafs in their home opener

The Winnipeg Jets will be opening the newly named Bell MTS Place this season on Wednesday, Octorber 4, 2017 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. This is an earlier start than last season when the season was delayed by the World Cup of Hockey. The Jets also help open the Saddledome against the Calgary Flames on Saturday, October 7.

There are other clues about the Jets opening week schedule as all 31 teams have announced their home opener the day before the schedule is released. On slate is the first NHL regular season game in Las Vegas for the Vegas Golden Knights.

For the Jets it is much of the same. They will open Bell MTS Place and possibly help a couple other teams open their homes. The Jets first home game should make fans excited as there should be some improvements made to the team and possibly a new goalie either in the starter or back up position. Outside of this, the home opener for the Jets should be exciting simply because it is the start of a new season.
