Winnipeg Jets and Bell MTS announce the renaming of MTS Centre and MTS Iceplex

The Winnipeg Jets and Bell MTS announced the re-branding of the home for the Jets’ and AHL Manitoba Moose as well as their off-site practice facility. Previously known as the MTS Centre and MTS Iceplex, the facilities will further be named Bell MTS Place and Bell MTS Iceplex respectively.

From the press release:

"MTS built a great relationship with True North Sports + Entertainment and the Winnipeg Jets, and the Bell MTS team is excited to take this successful partnership forward," says George Cope, president and CEO of Bell Canada and BCE. "We're proud to have our name on a place that's recognized for delivering one of the best sports and entertainment experiences in Canada for fans, and a community facility that serves as a hub of Manitoba hockey development."

All signage on both facilities will be updated by September 1, 2017, right before the preseason begins.

Bell finalized their purchase of Manitoba Telecom Services (MTS) earlier in 2017 and have recently re-branded all other services with the Bell name. This isn’t monumental news, but still something to chew on as we gear toward the NHL Entry Draft in three weeks.
