Tobias Enstrom is out following knee surgery

The Jets will be without the blueliner for the final five games of the season.

With only five games remaining in the regular season, there is not going to be any relief for the battered Jets blueline anytime soon. Tobias Enstrom, who has had a difficult season, will remain sidelined for the remainder of the regular season following knee surgery. This is not much of a blow to the Jets because they have now been officially eliminated from playoff contention.

In other news, Ben Chiarot could still return by the end of the regular season. I think this is the injury that led to Nelson Nogier being recalled on an emergency basis, so he would have to go down to the AHL if Chiarot returns and Nogier was recalled in his stead.

In other, somewhat unexpected news, Tucker Poolman is expected to sign with the Jets tonight according to UND beat writer Brad Schlossman. This is somewhat unexpected because not even a week ago Poolman stated that he wanted to focus on recovering from his shoulder injury first; a couple days ago Bob McKenzie reported that he would probably remain out for 4-6 months.
