The Winnipeg Jets have traded Drew Stafford to the Boston Bruins for a conditional 2018 6th round pick. The Jets didn’t retain any of Stafford’s salary.
Jets 6th round pick becomes a 5th if Boston makes the playoffs, a 4th if they get to the 2nd round. Stafford has to play in 50% of games.

Stafford had a up and down year after a injury slowed him down. A 4th line player of late, Stafford was a pending UFA, and was a pivotal part of the trade that saw Evander Kane become a Buffalo Sabre.
With the return of Andrew Copp and Marko Dano from injury, the writing was on the wall for Stafford to be jettisoned out of jetsville.
