Preview and GDT: Winnipeg Jets vs Edmonton Oilers

Time: 7:00 PM CST

Channel: Sportsnet

The Winnipeg Jets are returning from their holiday break to face the Edmonton Oilers at Bell MTS Place. They will be without the services of Dustin Byfuglien and Tobias Enstrom as both players remain injured.

On the Oilers side of the injury front, Andrej Sekera has recently returned from a torn ACL and Connor McDavid is fine after blocking a shot against the Montreal Canadiens. Both players will play tonight.

The Jets will have to be prepared to match McDavid’s noted speed. They might be able to prey on Sekera recently returning from injury as his game speed might still be a bit off. On the other hand, the Oilers will probably go after the Jets vulnerable defence, especially the bottom four players.

It is no secret that the Jets have had the better goaltending this season, although Hellebuyck has struggled from time to time recently. However, Mason is playing strongly as well and is available if needed.
