Writers needed at Arctic Ice Hockey

This has been a long time coming. Since I was named Managing Editor in October, I have been meaning to bring in more writers at Arctic Ice Hockey. We need help with everything from game day coverage to editorial writing. Derek and I cannot keep on trying to do everything alone.

Arctic Ice Hockey is a Winnipeg Jets hockey blog that is striving for diverse viewpoints and voices. Arctic Ice Hockey is lacking in anyone who enjoys writing about advanced stats. I would also like it if there was more diversity on staff including more women and minorities.

Anyone interested in writing for Arctic Ice Hockey should be:

  • A fan of the Winnipeg Jets and hockey in general
  • Knowledgable about the Jets
  • A capable writer
  • Able to produce content on a deadline
  • Able to use technology
  • A team player

We currently need:

  • 3-4 people who would like to curate hockey stories throughout the day for a morning links post
  • 1-2 people able to do previews and game day threads
  • People willing to do recaps
  • Editorial/opinion writers
  • Someone to run the Facebook page

Most of these are simple post that should not take more than 30 minutes. When it comes to links, there will be a system to make sure links are easy to access and not being found by one person. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me at the email address below or contact me through the Arctic Ice Hockey twitter account via a direct message.

If you are interested please email a writing sample with carataih@yahoo.ca. Successful applicants will be contacted after Christmas.
