GDT: Winnipeg Jets vs. Minnesota Wild

Sorry about the lack of preview this morning, but life has once again gotten in the way. Onwards and upwards though.

The Winnipeg Jets are facing the Minnesota Wild again and this time things could get very scary as it is Halloween night. The Jets are coming off of a dominant win against the Pittsburgh Penguins that included a Blake Wheeler hat trick.

The Jets were able to squeak past the Wild last time they played. The Jets jumped out to an early lead, but struggled to maintain it; possibly because of score effects which is human nature to enter a shell when you are up by a lot.

Things to Watch for:

  1. Jets special teams need to continue to improve and that includes the powerplay. The PP has not always been that strong for the Jets, even though the talent is there. They need to master this soon.
  2. Goaltending: can the Jets maintain their stellar goaltending that has won them more games than they have lost? If they can, the Jets might end up in good shape.
