The Winnipeg Jets are taking calls on Michael Hutchinson

According to the Headlines segment during the second intermission of the early game on Hockey Night in Canada tonight, Kevin Cheveldayoff is taking calls on Michael Hutchinson and listening to offers. This makes sense as Hutchinson is battling Eric Comrie for playing time with the latter being younger and a more important asset to the Winnipeg Jets organization at the moment.

It would be interesting to see Hutchinson get traded. Certainly a team like Las Vegas might need the goalie depth, especially with Marc-Andre Fleury’s history of concussions. Besides that, there might be a team that is in need of a depth goalie in the AHL like the Pittsburgh Penguins. If the Jets are feeling comfortable with their goalie depth sans Hutchinson, there is not reason for them to not get an asset for him, even if that asset is a low draft pick. What do you know, asset management might be happening.
