Matt Hendricks off IR, Nic Petan to the Manitoba Moose

The Winnipeg Jets have activated Matt Hendricks off of injured reserve and sent Nic Petan to the Manitoba Moose to open up a roster spot for him. While Petan has struggled to score in his NHL career, he has shown the ability to raise the play of those around him unless that player is Chris Thorburn.

This move makes sense if you think of it as being a move that allows the Jets to make changes without waiving a player. However, Petan is by far the most skilled player in the Jets bottom six, even if he does not produce the results. This is not going to be a solution to the Jets bottom six woes.

The Jets are also carrying eight defencemen as Dmitry Kulikov is healthy or near healthy. Could this mean that Tucker Poolman will be joining Petan in the AHL once that occurs? Only time will tell.
