Winnipeg Jets cut four forwards

The Winnipeg Jets have started making their final cuts by sending Brendan Lemiuex, Michael Spacek and Jack Roslovic to the Manitoba Moose as well as placing JC Lipon on waivers.

None of these moves should come as a surprise. Roslovic dropped off a bit when it came to who he played with, although he probably played himself into a call-up position while Lemieux, Spacek, and Lipon all need time in the AHL if they are to become NHL-level players at all. The AHL is the perfect place for these players and it seems like the Jets are setting these players up to be the first call-ups this year.

There are still more cuts to be made and those should be made within the next day or so. The Jets still need to make cuts on defence as they have already sent down Eric Comrie for the goalies. Any player being waived has to be cut today to make the 5 pm deadline tomorrow.
