Anaheim signed defenceman Andrew O'Brien. They acquired a 2016 first-round pick and a 2017 second-round pick from Toronto. They signed centre Michael Sgarbossa to an extension.

Arizona Coyotes

Arizona acquired a 2016 fourth-round pick and a 2017 third-round pick from San Jose. They signed defenceman Alex Goligoski to an extension. They acquired centre Pavel Datsyuk and a 2016 first-round pick from Detroit.

Boston Bruins

Boston made no moves this week.

Buffalo Sabres

Buffalo acquired winger Jimmy Vesey from Nashville. They signed winger Nicolas Deslauriers to an extension.

Calgary Flames

Calgary hired Glen Gulutzan as their head coach. They acquired goaltender Brian Elliott from St. Louis.

Carolina Hurricanes

Carolina made no moves this week. Defenceman Mark Flood, who last played in the Carolina organization in 2013/14, has signed in Austria with EC Red Bull Salzburg.

Chicago Blackhawks

Chicago signed centre Nick Schmaltz. They signed centre Dennis Rasmussen to an extension. They acquired two second-round picks from Montreal.

Colorado Avalanche

Colorado signed winger Andreas Martinsen to an extension.

Columbus Blue Jackets

Columbus signed centre William Karlsson to an extension.

Dallas signed defenceman Jordie Benn to an extension.

Detroit Red Wings

Detroit acquired centre Joe Vitale and a 2016 first- and second-round pick from Arizona.

Edmonton Oilers

Edmonton signed defenceman Jordan Oesterle to an extension.

Florida Panthers

Florida signed defenceman Ian McCoshen. They acquired defenceman Keith Yandle from the Rangers. They signed Yandle to an extension. They acquired goaltender Reto Berra from Colorado.

Los Angeles Kings

Los Angeles made no moves this week. Centre Vincent Lecavalier has retired from pro hockey.

Minnesota Wild

Minnesota bought out winger Thomas Vanek.

Montreal Canadiens

Montreal signed defenceman Joel Hanley to an extension. They acquired centre Andrew Shaw from Chicago. They acquired 2017 and 2018 second-round picks from Washington. Defenceman Joe Finley, who was last in the NHL for training camp in 2014 with Montreal, has signed in Finland with Liiga's HIFK Helsinki.

Nashville Predators

Nashville acquired a 2016 third-round draft pick from Buffalo.

New Jersey Devils

New Jersey acquired a 2016 first-round and third-round pick from Ottawa.

New York Islanders
