Finally, the 2016 NHL Entry Draft is just hours away. Winnipeg Jets fans will soon know if there was fire behind the Patrik Laine "will they or won't they" smoke. At the very least, TSN's Bob McKenzie won't be able to whip folks up into a frenzy for much longer (or until the next Jacob Trouba trade rumour).
I’m reasonably confident TOR will take Auston Matthews at No. 1. I’m not nearly as confident WPG will automatically take Patrik Laine at 2.

Mostly lost in all the 2nd overall drama is the 22nd pick, and the abundance of solid (if less NHL-ready) prospects sure to be available with that selection. Will the Jets actually make it to the podium, or will general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff leverage the pick into something more immediate?
