GDT: Winnipeg Jets vs St. Louis Blues

The Winnipeg Jets are coming off a 4-2 win against the Colorado Avalanche Saturday night. A good win that saw it’s fair share of team buy-in, considering the floundered 5-3 loss against the Carolina Hurricanes the night before. As we settle in in anticipation to tonight’s contest, all eyes will be on how the team responds within the first 5 minutes…fast and furious such as the start against the Avs, or uninspired and unorganized such as the start against the Hurricanes. I’m predicting a fast start by the team, brought on by the uplifting resigning of one of their most important players in Dustin Byfuglien, and his words given in his post contract presser stating “we’re not out of it yet”. Actions speak louder than words, and his actions by taking on a contract that is compromising in nature all but signals to his teammates and fans that he’s here to help lift this franchise into contender status. Buff could have easily gone and collected more money and term from another franchise in the off season, but chose to stay. Take that, Frolik!

Tonight’s opponents are the St. Louis Blues, who are coming off a 4-1 win against the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night. The Blues will be within a core piece of their defense as Alex Pietrangelo as placed on IR Monday.
