GDT: Winnipeg Jets vs Carolina Hurricanes

To be a fan of the Winnipeg Jets as of late means that you're kind of caught in a conundrum. On one hand, you want the team to excel and win every game, securing a spot in the playoffs and hopefully celebrating a playoff series win at the corner of Portage and Main. On the other hand, you want the team to play well, but not well enough to secure a short term victory a playoff run can provide. You want long term success, one that can potentially be derived from obtaining certain player rights in the form of top 5 draft picks from this year's crop, and trading away current assets to stock pile future draft picks and options. It's a delicate balance. After dispatching the draft lottery kingpins of late, the Edmonton Oilers, on Saturday night, the Winnipeg Jets venture three quarters across North America to face the Carolina Hurricanes, who have had some success of late themselves, beating the New York Islanders on the weekend.
