1st Period *The Coach and player introductions including career acknowledgments went on for almost 20 minutes! *Nobody can compare to Wayne Gretzky in crowd approval, unless it's Teemu Selanne!

Nice ovation for current Jets Coach and Oiler Alumni Charlie Huddy and former Jets hotshot Dale Hawerchuk. *Jennifer Hanson can still rock the traditional red dress, and sang a great rendition of O'Canada, followed by the classic plane fly by. *Bob Essensa starts in goal for the Jets, and Bill Ranford starts for the Oilers. *Eddie Olczyk and Ryan Smyth's game strategies are in sync - short shifts.*Oiler's Anderson called for hooking - Teemu with the penalty shot, dekes Ranford - 1-0 Jets.

*Winnipeg Jets called for hooking - Oilers' Messier with penalty shot, but stopped by Essensa. *Jets' King with the upstairs shot - 2-0 Jets. * Jets' Ducky with the short side beater - 3-0 Jets.

*Oilers' Moose with the top shelf snipe - 3-1 Jets. *Jets' Eagles scores his first NHL goal (just kidding) - 4-1 Jets at the end of the first period.  *Second period starts and the Jets go with Daniel Berthiaume, and the Oilers counter with Dwayne Roloson.  * Oilers' Esa Tikkanen awarded the early penalty shot, but no good. Still 4-1 Jets.  * Oilers' Craig Simpson awarded penalty shot. Dekes backhand and beats the Bandit. 4-2 Jets.  * Oilers' Mark Messier beats Berthiaume, 4-3 Jets. Cue the Oilers comeback!  *The competitive juices are starting to spill over - you can take the warrior our of the battle, but you can't take the battle out of the warrior.  *Crowd chanting "Go- Jets- Go!".

*Oilers' Mac T drops the shoulder, glides to the net and scores for the bad guys! 4-4 tie game.*Offside?!?...as the 2nd period ends.

*3rd period starts and Curtis Joseph is now in the net for the Oilers. * Eddie O records his 1000th offside for the Jets (again, kidding). *They even brought back the old referees as Andy Van Helmond waves off an Oilers goal. *Oilers' MacDonald scores and put the Oilers up 5-4. *31,371 announced in attendance. * Lots of yelling, talking and chatter as the pace picks up with 9 minutes left to go. *The Jets' King scores and ties the game up at 5 apiece.  *As the play winds down, the Oilers' Simpson trips up the Jets' Selanne, and is awarded a penalty shot! Selanne slowly skates and shoots, beating Cujo and puts the Jets up 6-5 as the clock winds down and the game ends! The Winnipeg Jets Alumni beat the Edmonton Oilers Alumni 6-5 in a great, spirited affair with a storybook ending!
