The Winnipeg Jets played a strong game against the San Jose Sharks, despite taking the usual amount of minor penalties thru out the game. A short handed goal by Drew Stafford, along with a snipe from Mathieu Perreault, a first by Joel Armia, and a long distance empty netter by Nikolaj Ehlers, who cleverly bank passed it off the boards to himself, sealed the win for the Jets (coincidentally, SN played a good piece on Ehlers during the first intermission. Also, In the GDT for the San Jose Game, I posted a poll question regarding Ehlers. As of 7:30 am this morning, exactly 50% of responders were in favor of sending Ehlers to the Moose, while 50% of responders were in favor of keeping him up with the Jets). Now for a quick turn around, it’s down the road for a contest against the Anaheim Ducks, who are coming off a shootout loss against the Vancouver Canucks on Friday night. The Ducks aren’t rested either as they spent Saturday at the rink preparing for the contest against the Jets, rather than taking the day off.
