The Winnipeg Jets are coming off a few days rest, and hope to have all guns blazing when they take on the Nashville Predators this evening. Well, some of the guns anyway. Mark Scheifele, Drew Stafford, and Adam Lowry are all on the IR, while Alexander Burmistrov is working thru some bumps and bruises, and will be a game time decision. Ondrej Pavelec is still on the mend from his long term IR. With the open roster spots comes opportunity, as Joel Armia, JC Lipon and Connor Hellebuyck are making believers out of fans and Jets management. The Jets are coming off a 2-1 loss against the Colorado Avalanche on Monday night, and sit 6 points out of the final wild card spot. Tonight's opponents, the Nashville Predators, are coming off a 4-1 loss against the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday night, and are currently out of a wild card spot by 3 points. Last week during the last meeting between these teams, there was some bad blood brewing. With some added muscle in the Jets lineup, there literally could be blood. On the ice, that is.
7pm CST, TSN 3, TSN 1290, FS-TN Radio: 102.5 The Game
Winnipeg Jets Projected Lineup as per Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun:
Chris Thorburn - Alexander Burmistrov or Andrew Copp - Matt Halischuk
JC Lipon- Patrice Cormier or Andrew Copp - Anthony Peluso
Please note that Burmi is a game time decision, and if a no go, then Copp moves to the third, and Cormier comes in centering the 4th. Got it? Good.
Nashville Predators Projected Lineup as per Brian Munz of TSN1290:
Kevin Filia - Ryan Johansen - James Neal
Filip Forsberg - Mike Ribeiro - Calle Jarnkrok
Craig Smith - Mike Fisher - Eric Nystrom
Miikka Salomaki - Paul Gaustad - Cody Bass
Roman Josi - Shea Weber
Mattias Ekholm - Ryan Ellis
Anthony Bitetto - Barret Jackman
Player to boo mercilessly:
Again, James Neal is a magnet for this type of stuff!
Jets 4-1. Maybe. It could happen! It did last time.
