Winnipeg Jets get Wild at the MTS Center

After an off-season that extended beyond forever into different realms of space time, the Winnipeg Jets are back in (pre-season) action against their fiercely boring divisional rival, the Minnesota Wild. You won’t have heard of many of the players, but the players will be playing hockey and the game will be on TV and everything.

Puck drop will be at 7:00 CST and the game will be televised on TSN3. You can also listed in on TSN 1290.

Keys to the Game

Winnipeg Jets

Feel the Ehl – Nikolaj Ehlers be under the spotlight tonight and in every other pre-season game. He is the most talented prospect to grace the Winnipeg Jets’ prospect pool and he has a legit shot of making the team this year. Every play, shot and bobble will be under the microscope as fans and coaches alike get a feel for the Ehl.

Skinny Shinny – Ehlers will play on a line with Alexander Burmistrov and Mathieu Perreault. This line will be tiny, but extremely fast and skilled. They will likely be very hard to handle once they gain puck possession. Will this line stick? Will they stick all the way into the regular season? It is possible and a strong showing tonight will go a long way towards making that a reality.

Burming Man – Alexander Burmistrov will be back in action for the first time since leaving many fans heated as he bolted to the KHL. His redemption tour starts now, but there are many unknowns. Where will he play? Will he stick at center? Perhaps!

I know all three points were about the same line, but they were the only confirmed skaters at the time this went to press.

Minnesota Wild

This is the pre-season – I don't put thought into the other teams in the pre-season, but I beg this rag-tag bunch doesn't put me to sleep.

Player to Boo Mercilessly

Michael Frolik. – I know he won’t be here till October 3rd, but I am still mighty pissed at that jerk off for jetting off to Calgary.

Prediction

The hockey will be bad and the Winnipeg Jets will win 5-2.
