Jets call Connor Hellebyuck up

With the St. John's IceCaps eliminated from the AHL playoffs, the Winnipeg Jets look to be giving prospect Connor Hellebuyck a shot at a game. They may have also elected to rest Ondrej Pavelec for the final game of the season against the Calgary Flames to prevent any potential injury situation that may arise if Pavelec starts.

With Michael Hutchinson struggling much of the second of the second half of the season, having a third goalie up should help the Jets. It is not known which goalie will be in net on Saturday, but it would make sense if the Jets recalled Hellebyuck to play him. This could also be a sign that the Jets are going to rest key players in lieu of playing an optimal line up. If that is the case, there should be no concerns if players are scratched in against the Flames. There will be no reason to panic if that is the case.
