Byfuglien and Little injured; O'Dell called up

Winnipeg Jets all-star defenceman Dustin Byfuglien will miss two to four weeks with an upper body injury, after what appeared to be a harmless looking play along the boards with Condra of the Senators on Wednesday against Ottawa. Bryan Little will also miss the next couple of games with an undisclosed injury.

The Winnipeg Jets' playoff chances took another hit on Friday when it was announced Dustin Byfuglien will miss 2-4 weeks with injury. The all-star defenceman was injured while attempting to check Erik Condra of the Ottawa Senators during the second period of Wednesday night's game. Byfuglien left the game shortly after, and did not return.

There didn't seem to be much in the hit at the time, as you can see below, but it caused visible discomfort and led to a Senators goal.

The injury comes at a bad time for the Jets, although there is never a good time, as the team goes on the road for four straight. Buff could miss anywhere from six to 12 games while he recovers.

Bryan Little is also expected to miss the first two games of the road trip against the Predators and Blues, as he has an undisclosed injury. However, he did travel with the team and could play in the latter half of the trip when the Jets are in Florida.

As a result of the injuries, Eric O`Dell has been recalled from the St. John's IceCaps to vill the void.
