Grant Clitsome’s Undergoes Back Surgery, Season May Be Over

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Grant Clitsome underwent back surgery this morning. Apparently it will be months before Clitsome is ready to skate, but the Jets are confident that he will be able to resume his career.

That said, this is Grant Clitsome's second such surgery within the last year. Grant's 2013-14 season was cut short with an injury that took place on Dec. 17 of 2013. He was then placed on injured reserve and eventually underwent surgery. The surgery took place on January 16th of 2014.

Two back surgery's within a year can't be good.

What does this mean for the Jets? Well, the talk about what to do when the blue line heals is likely to end and the importance of defensive depth is once again highlighted. Above all else, good luck Grant. Hope your recovery goes well.
