Mathieu Perreault is out for the next 2 games

The Winnipeg Jets announced today that Mathieu Perreault is out for about 1 week with an injured upper body.

This is a big blow to the Jets offensive depth. Thankfully, Evander Kane is there to play in Perreault’s spot on the second line. The more devastating blow has occurred to the third line who has gone from Kane to Chris Thorburn on the wing. The Jets have an on-team solution of TJ Galiardi or there is the possibility of a call-up once Perreault is moved to injured reserve (IR). Carl Klingberg is probably the best option for a call-up with his high shot rate in the AHL showing he may be ready for the NHL.

This is a tough injury for the Jets, but they have had many of those this season already and have pulled through every time. Expect the same here.
