Down to some other news. More has been revealed about the All-Star Game. The uniforms were unveiled today. The sweaters have ref-style striping inside the upper arms, neon green accents, and a faux-chrome version of the NHL logo with two stars (one representing each conference), on predominantly white and black jerseys. I think better designs could have been made with those colours (neon green as an accent for red and blue sweaters?) but the design we got is pretty weak.
On a more dour note, as many of you already know, Capgeek went down at the start of this week, due to health problems for the site's owner Matthew Wuest. The site which had a UFA calculator, player and contract database, information on waiver eligibility, contract types, and clauses, a buyout calculator, Armchair GM roster move simulator, and a handy FAQ dumbing down the CBA's hifalutin jibberjabber for the layperson, was used by many, from TSN, Sportsnet, and NHL Network, to NHL.com, PuckDaddy and this very site. The hockey community has lost an invaluable resource. I would like to give my best wishes to Wuest and those in his life.
That's it for this week, thanks for reading.
