Winnipeg Jets Announce 2014 Young Stars Tournament Roster

This years roster looks very strong, even though Jacob Trouba and Mark Scheifele will not be returning:

Winnipeg Jets Young Stars Roster

The most notable player missing is 2014 3rd round pick Jack Glover, who no doubt has school commitments. Marcus Karlstrom is missing due to commitments in Europe. Free agents Chase Balisy and Ralfs Freibergs are on AHL only deals, and can be signed by any NHL team. Jean Dupuy, Justin Hickman, Ben Walker, Nikolas Brouillard are all first time invites, while Zach Bell is getting a second look.

Ryan had an excellent analysis on the development camp, and the only invitee he was impressed with was Walker, although we did sign Freibergs to a contract. This is Hellebuycks debut outside of college hockey, he will be an interesting player to watch.

Overall the depth looks good, especially in goal. Last year the Jets ran a tandem of Comrie and Olkinuora. Comrie had a great year, and Hellebuyck duplicated his award winning year. The forward depth looks excellent, with Petan, De Leo, Lowry, Lodge, and Olsen giving the team great depth down the middle. Ehlers and Kosmachuk are both high end wingers who each scored 49 goals last season. Lipon and Blomqvist add depth. The defensive depth features lots of offensive minded puck movers.
