The Winnipeg Jets have agreed to terms with qualified RFA John Albert:
#NHLJets agree to terms with Eric O'Dell (1 yr, $650K), Patrice Cormier (1 yr, $625K), & Johnny Albert (1 yr, $585K).

John Albert was selected in the 6th round 175th overall by Atlanta Thrashers in the 2007 NHL entry draft. The speedy center had 52 points in 84 AHL games this past season, and in December earned a callup. During this callup the 25 year old scored a bar down beauty in his first game:
Described as a "pure energy" player, Albert is exempt from waivers for the 14/15 season. He also will not qualify for Group VI free agency at any point of his career due to not enough NHL contract years. Being under control and waiver exempt at age 25 is not common for an NHL prospect.
Will he get a callup during the 14/15 season? Will he ever be more than an NHL energy player? Share your thoughts below.
