Mark Stuart channels inner Keystone Cop, makes huge gaff leading to Ottawa Senators goal

Mark Stuart makes a number of blunders en route to an Ottawa Senators goal.

Trailing 2-1 in the second period, the Winnipeg Jets were in need of a spark.

What they got instead was a bad play, followed by a great play, followed by a horrendous play from recently re-signed defenceman Mark Stuart.

Let's take a look at the GIFs.

Things start off inauspiciously enough with Stuart whiffing on a puck that comes to him at the blue line, prompting an odd-man rush for the Ottawa Senators. Not the worst thing in the world as the Jets are still in good shape.

Now, what's this? Could it be?! Wow, Stuart with a tenacious back check was able to break up a cross ice pass and…. oh no. No, no, no. No! God no! NNNNOOOOOOOO!!!!

Finally, the death blow comes as Eric Gryba deposits Ottawa's third goal of the game into Winnipeg's vacant net. Ladies and gentlemen, your Keystone Cops have arrived.

What is this? I can't even… is this real life?

Big props to Stuart for even getting back into the play before ultimately spoiling his hard work by crashing into goaltender Ondrej Pavelec like a bowling ball.

CBC analyst Garry Galley had this to say about the play:

"What a myriad of mistakes... you cannot imagine."

Indeed, Garry. Indeed.
