Czech Republic 4 - 2 Latvia

Recap: In a game they needed to win, the Czech Republic responded admirably in their victory over Latvia. Solid performances from Marek Zidlicky (1G, 1) and Jaromir Jagr (1G), the Czechs were able to stave off their pesky Latvian adversaries, eventually doubling them up in score. Ondrej Pavelec made his debut in the tournament, stopping 18 of 20 shots in the win.

Sweden 1 - 0 Switzerland

Recap: After learning they would be without the services of their captain Henrik Zetterberg for the remainder of the tournament, Sweden displayed a gutsy performance against Switzerland, escaping with a narrow 1-0 victory. Daniel Alfredsson scored the lone Swedish goal and Henrik Lundqvist completed a 26 save shutout in the win. Reto Berra was equally as sharp for the Suisse, stopping 30 of 31 in the loss.

Finland 6 - 1 Norway
Recap: For the second straight game, Finland put up a bushel of goals as they toppled Norway 6-1. After suffering an injury scare in the tournament opener, Teemu Selanne returned with a strong performance including a goal for the Finns. Offensively they were led by their second line as Lauri Korpikoski (2G), Olli Jokinen (1G, 1A) and Olli Maatta (1G, 2 A) did much of the heavy lifting in the win. Per-Age Skrøder scored the lone goal for Norway.
