GDT: Jets at Blackhawks (Starring Hutch, The Free Agent Signing)

Grab your antlers, your red nose, your glove and your blocker! Our magical Christmas journey together continues with a tribute to our dear friend, Hutch.

Bruce Fedyck-USA TODAY Sports

You know Kaner and Big Buff and Lowry and Fefe,
You know Thorbs and Postie and Ladd and Frolik,
But do you recall
The greatest goalie of all?

Hutchinson, the Free Agent Signing
Had some very flashy saves
And if you ever saw them
You could see why the fans rave
All of the other players
Used to rely on Ondrej Pavelec
They never let poor Hutchinson
Have much time out in net

Then one day before Christmas Eve,
Paul Maurice came to say,
Hutch, with your flashy mitts so bright,
Won't you help my team tonight?

Then all the players loved him,
As they shouted out with glee,
Hutchinson, the Free Agent Signing
You'll go down in history!

The game is being broadcast tonight on TSN3.

Person To Remember

Instead of doing the typical "Players to Watch" I thought it would be nice to do a "Person to Remember."

On December 21, 2014, the Chicago Blackhawks Assistant Equipment Manager, Clint Reif, passed away. He was only 34 years old and leaves behind a loving wife and three young children. It seems only right that on the day the Jets play the Blackhawks, we pause for a moment and remember the man that meant so much to not only their organization, but to the hockey community.
