Mark Stuart out until Feb with an injury: Paul Maurice. #bn
— Paul Wiecek (@PaulWiecek) December 18, 2014
The Winnipeg Jets have been dealt another blow on the blueline with the announcement that Mark Stuart will be out until February with injury. This means that until Tobias Enstrom returns in January, the Winnipeg Jets will be run a defence of AHL players, and bottom 4 guys. This will be a real test for the team as they get ready to host the Boston Bruins tomorrow night. Stuart's injury looks to have stemmed from his fight against Nicholas Deslauriers in the last five minutes against the Buffalo Sabres. Julien Brouliette is expected to draw in. For the longer term projections, it may be prudent of the Jets to find a defenceman on an expiring contract to trade for because of the lack of NHL depth. Until then, a callup from St. John's is probably coming after 5:00 pm today or tomorrow.
Minor update on Enstrom and Zach Bogosian as well.
Maurice: Enstrom on track. Should start skating in early-January. Will need extra time skating than Bogosian will.
