Evander Kane expected to return to the ice this weekend

Bruce Fedyck-USA TODAY Sports

The Winnipeg Jets uber-talented left winger Evander Kane is nearing a clean bill of health. Obviously his rehab will be multi-step process, but he is expected to return to the ice as soon as this weekend and that is nothing but good news.

Coach added "after that it is as much about strength and healing time," but there is no firm timetable.

Whenever he returns, Evander Kane will be a welcome addition to the Jets' roster. His injury quickly turned hope of a three line team into dread as Chris Thorburn rotated through the Winnipeg Jets top nine.

Still, it will be interesting to see what Paul Maurice does with the lines when Evander returns. Mathieu Perreault has been moved to the to the wing along side Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler. The early returns have been favorable. Will Marice break that up or will he look to spread talent further down the lineup?

Keep at the rehab Evander. Get well soon.
