Anaheim

The Ducks assigned Goaltender Jason LaBarbera to AHL Norfolk. They named Corey Perry and Francois Beauchemin alternate captains.

Arizona

The Coyotes made no major moves this week. Matt Smaby was released from his try-out before the season started. Owners have reached an agreement to sell 51% of the franchise to Andrew Barroway.

Boston

The Bruins recalled Jordan Caron from AHL Providence. They acquired Phialdelphia’s second-round pick in 2015 and the Islanders‘ second-round pick in 2016, as well as the Islanders’ conditional third-round pick in 2015, in exchange for defenceman Johnny Boychuk. The Bruins receive the conditional pick the Islanders trade Boychuk to another Eastern Conference team.

Buffalo

The Sabres assigned forwards Zac Dalpe, Mikhail Grigorenko, and Johan Larsson to AHL Rochester. Brian Gionta, who captained Montreal from 2009 to 2014, was named captain.

Calgary

The Flames assigned Sven Baertschi, Joni Ortio, and Tyler Wotherspoon to AHL Adirondack. They signed defenceman Raphael Diaz to a one-year contract worth $700K.

Carolina

The Hurricanes recalled college free agent signing Patrick Brown from AHL Charlotte while sending down Chad LaRose and Zach Boychuk. Andrej Sekera, Jay Harrison, and Ron Hainsey were named alternate captains. The latter two will rotate it until Jordan Staal returns from injury.

Chicago

The Blackhawks signed Daniel Carcillo to a one-year contract worth $550K. They traded defenceman Nick Leddy and goaltender Kent Simpson to the Islanders for defenceman TJ Brennan, prospect Ville Pokka, and goaltender Anders Nilsson. Brennan was promptly assigned to AHL Rockford.

Colorado

The Avalanche named Jarome Iginla, who captained Calgary from 2003 to 2013, alternate captain.

Columbus

The Blue Jackets claimed Jack Skille and Adam Cracknell off waivers from the Islanders and Los Angeles, respectively. They signed centre Ryan Johansen to a three-year contract worth $12M. Simon Hjalmarsson, sent to the minors, has opted to return to the Europe, to the KHL.

Dallas

The Stars named Vernon Fiddler and Trevor Daley alternate captains.

Detroit

The Red Wings assigned Petr Mrazek, Zavier Ouellet, and Kevin Porter to AHL Grand Rapids Griffins.

Edmonton

The Oilers named Taylor Hall and Jordan Eberle alternate captains. Kevin Westgarth was released from his PTO, while Tyler Pitlick, Steven Pinizzotto, Keith Aulie, Anton Lander, and Martin Marincin were assigned to AHL Oklahoma City.

Florida

The Panthers signed Shane O’Brien to a one-year contract worth $650K at the NHL level and $125K in the minors. They assigned him to AHL San Antonio. They traded Joey Crabb to the Rangers in exchange for forward Andrew Yogan and defenceman Steven Kampfer. They named Willie Mitchell team captain.

Los Angeles

The Kings assigned defenceman Jeff Schultz to AHL Manchester.

Minnesota

The Wild signed winger Ryan Carter to a one-year contract worth $725K in the NHL and $350K in the minors. They also assigned Cody Almond and Stephane Veilleux to AHL Iowa, also releasing Ilya Bryzgalov from his PTO.

Montreal

The Canadiens released Francis Bouillon from camp before the season started. They traded goaltender Peter Budaj and Patrick Holland to Winnipeg for Eric Tangradi.

Nashville

The Predators named James Neal alternate captain. Paul Gaustad will wear an “A” until Mike Fisher returns from injury.

New Jersey

The Devils assigned Steve Bernier, Cam Janssen, and Peter Harrold to AHL Albany, also releasing Scott Gomez from his PTO. They also signed Jordin Tootoo to a one-year contract worth $550K.

NY Islanders

The Islanders signed 2014 first-rounder Joshua Ho-Sang to an entry-level contract. They also acquired Johnny Boychuk from Boston and Nick Leddy from Chicago.

NY Rangers

The Rangers acquired Joey Crabb from the Panthers. They named Ryan McDonagh captain. They called up Michael Kostka to fill in for injured Dan Boyle. Matthew Lombardi was placed on unconditional waivers for contract termination.

Ottawa

The Senators assigned Aaron Johnson and Jean-Gabriel Pageau to AHL Binghamton.

Philadelphia

The Flyers named Wayne Simmonds and Mark Streit alternate captains.

Pittsburgh

The Penguins recalled Zach Sill and Andrew Ebbett, as well as Scott Harrington, from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. They also assigned Kasperi Kapanen to Finland.

San Jose

The Sharks made no major moves this week.

St. Louis

The Blues assigned Colin Fraser, as well as Chris Butler and Dmitrij Jaskin, to AHL Chicago. Paul Bissonnette was released from his PTO. Peter Mueller agreed to a mutual contract termination.

Tampa Bay

The Lightning made no major moves this week.

Toronto

The Maple Leafs assigned Korbinian Holzer, Colton Orr, and Frazer McLaren to AHL Toronto, as well as William Nylander to Europe, and later sent Troy Bodie down while claiming Richard Panik off waivers from Tampa Bay.

Vancouver

The Canucks assigned Nicklas Jensen to AHL Utica.

Washington

The Capitals assigned Steve Oleksy to AHL Hershey.

Winnipeg

The Jets acquired Patrick Holland and Peter Budaj from Montreal for Eric Tangradi. They assigned Budaj and Eric O’Dell to AHL St. John’s. They also sent Keaton Ellerby down, while releasing Danny Taylor from his PTO.
