Ed Tait gives his take on the 4-1 loss: "The Jets fell for the fifth consecutive game Thursday night, serving up another indifferent effort in a 4-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre that not only drops them out of top spot in the Southeast Division, but down to 10th in the Eastern Conference at 18-19-2." [WFP]

Why a late season collapse is typical of the Jets: "Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff did nothing for his team’s present at the trade deadline this week. He did nothing for its future, either. Now its past is reaching up and grabbing it by the throat. The history of this franchise is all about late-season swoons, and we can’t imagine a collapse more complete than what we’re seeing right now." [Winnipeg Sun]

Hey, some good news! Jets' license plates have raised up to $800K for charity. [CBC]

Finally, it seems as though early indications were false and Sidney Crosby isn’t suffering from concussion-like symptoms after taking a Brooks Orpik bomb to the teeth. That’s good! [Puck Daddy]
