Death for Seth is settled, well kind of... The Florida Panthers were really really really bad this year and they finished last. As a result they have a 25% chance of drafting Seth Jones (or whomever else they choose 1st overall). The Jets Winnipeg Jets on the other hand have a 0.8% chance landing the first overall pick. See below for the full list of odds.
Here are the odds of all fourteen lottery teams:
Team | Odds |
Florida Panthers | 25.0% |
Colorado Avalanche | 18.8% |
Tampa Bay Lightning | 14.2% |
Nashville Predators | 10.7% |
Carolina Hurricanes | 8.1% |
Calgary Flames | 6.2% |
Edmonton Oilers | 4.7% |
Buffalo Sabres | 3.6% |
New Jersey Devils | 2.7% |
Dallas Stars | 2.1% |

Winnipeg Jets | 0.8% |
Columbus Blue Jackets | 0.5% |
Note: The Jets odds aren't very good.
..But what does this all mean?
It means the Jets aren't likely to draft first overall. Odds are they will still be drafting in the teens, but that doesn't mean they will struggle to find talent. This is a deep draft and there are sure to be a number of interesting talents available when the Jets pick.

Note: There are a number of players that are 6'3 or taller so they could be right in Chevy's wheel house.
If you want to take a look at some individual scouting reports, FOTB Corey Pronman has put together this awesome resource. What kind of player should the Jets be looking at? What kind of player do you think Chevy will target?
Would you prefer a speed demon like Adam Erne a tiny playmaker like Max Domi or a big bugger like Anthony Mantha or Frederik Gauthier. Or should they do with a D man like Rasmus Ristolainen? It will be interesting to see where Chevy goes with this one?
