Grant Clitsome suffers apparent eye injury in first period versus New York Rangers, will not return

As is being reported by the official Twitter profile of the Winnipeg Jets, defenceman Grant Clitsome is currently undergoing repairs after taking a stick under his visor midway through the first period of tonight’s game against the New York Rangers.

UPDATE: Scott Brown of True North Sports and Entertainment has confirmed that Cltsome is done for the evening.

Orignal fears seem to have been confirmed as Clitsome was struck by the stick of Alexander Burmistrov around the eye area. Had his injury been something as simple as stitching a wound, there would be no doubt of Clitsome’s return.

We will continue to update Clitsome’s status heading into tomorrow’s game against the New York Islanders.
