Antony Peluso suspended three games

The Jets will be without the services of their gritty fourth line winger for the next three games after the NHL has suspended him for three games.

When it was announced this morning that Anthony Peluso would face a hearing with the NHL's Department of Player Safety, most Winnipeg Jets' fans began to understand that a suspension was likely to come in the near future.

This afternoon, that's exactly what happened. As reported by multiple news outlets, Peluso will serve a three game suspension for Saturday's blindside hit on a defenceless Alex Gologoski. Peluso was given a five minute major for boarding as well as a game misconduct at the trail end of the second period.

Though bloodied, Gologoski was no worse for wear and finished the game with 23 minutes of ice time.

Peluso is the first Jets' player to be suspended after the team moved from Atlanta three years ago.

Many fans are hopeful that Eric O`Dell is recalled from St. John's to fill the role vacated by Peluso. Time will tell whether or not there is any logic left in the rosters moves made by this team.
