Nothing says “NHL hockey” quite like a little southern country twang. Just ask Carrie Underwood’s husba — errr — Mike Fisher about it.
The NHL locked out it's players late Saturday night, prompting a local DJ to create a lockout song that has gone viral.
Covering Taylor Swift's new hit single "We Are Never Getting Back Together" — presumably written after a boy didn't wave at her in the mall — QX 104's Vicki Shae stars as a forlorn hockey fan upset over the doom and despair stemming from the league's recent lockout.
The lyrics were written by Shae, along with her radio cohorts Brody Jackson and Jonathan Best.
While it's evident that hockey fans will have to suffer through this work stoppage for an indefinite amount of time, that doesn't mean that we cannot display some creative flair in trying to make the best of it; especially when it involves references to Taylor Swift.
Perhaps the next installment will feature a sobbing Gary Bettman, belting out Blake Shelton's "Over" to a cardboard cut-out of Donald Fehr.
"So tell me what I gotta do to win you over… You'll never have to wonder if you need another…"
