Altitude Check: Wednesday, April 25, 2012 Winnipeg Jets News Headlines

Hey all! Here is our feature running Monday through Friday that will bring you up to date on what’s going on in the media pertaining to the Winnipeg Jets and elsewhere in the NHL.

Here is what's in the news for Wednesday, April 25, 2012:

According to Gary Lawless, signing Ondrej Pavelec should be priority number one this summer. Still beefing with Kane Lawless? In any event, I found this paragraph mildly interesting, despite its lack of corroboration: “One tidbit that came our way is the possibility of Pavelec being wooed by a KHL team expected to relocate to Prague in his native Czech Republic for the 2012-13 season. A team in Poprad, Slovakia is allegedly relocating to Prague and there is also talk of a club in Karlovy Vary joining the league.” [WFP]

St. John’s IceCaps head coach Keith McCambridge on the possible insertion of Mark Scheifele to his line-up: “”Ever since we learned he was coming here, I’ve had some scenarios in my head.” So…….. you’re saying there’s a chance? [The Telegram]

According to Brendan McCarthy of The Telegram, Schefiele will dress. Ed. Note: Confirmed this morning by McCambridge on TSN 1290AM.

Jeff Brewer's notion on what St. John's line combos might be tonight:

More Kane: He did not qualify for the Sweet 16 of the NHL 13 cover vote. Voting is still ongoing, so please take a few minutes out of your day to ensure that Evgeni Malkin, Steven Stamkos or Pavel Datsyuk appear on the cover. [EA Sports]
