Altitude Check: Thursday December 15, 2011 Winnipeg Jets Headlines

Hey all! This is a new feature running Monday through Friday that will bring you up to date on what’s going on in the media pertaining to the Winnipeg Jets.

Here are your headlines for Thursday December 15, 2011:

Though Zach Bogosian won’t face any supplemental discipline, the Winnipeg Jets still have a lot of line-up questions to address before tonights game against Washington. [Toronto Sun]

Ed Tait runs down the “how”and “why” of Zach Bogosian’s evasion of the Shannahammer. [WFP]

Antti Miettinen is a no-go for tonight’s game. [WFP]

Our SB Nation pals over at Japer's Rink provide news on tonight's opponents. [Japer's Rink]

Ron Hainsey is working his way back into Winnipeg’s line-up. “You’re not going to be as sharp as you want to be, like everybody else who’s been playing for 30 games, but it was fun to get back out there.” [WFP]

Here are two ways to mitigate avoiding bathroom line-ups at the MTS Centre. 1. Stop double-fisting. 2. Go to the bathroom during commercial breaks as opposed to at intermission. Others are looking for a complete overhaul of MTSC's bathroom system and the re-implementation of the troughs. Yeah, that's not going to happen. Unless you want the price of your tickets to spike. [CBC]

OMG! OMG! OMG! Only two more days until he's here! Sure, True North doesn't owe Selanne a rousing tribute, but if the Jets crowd doesn't cheer him (antonym of booing your opponents) every time he touches the puck I will be disappointed. [Winnipeg Sun]

Andrew Ladd hopes that Mark Scheifele can use this years World Junior U-20 Tournament as a learning experience. “Hopefully he’ll be a leader on that team, play lots and learn a lot from it. I will probably text him and just say congrats, have fun and enjoy it.” [Winnipeg Sun]

Finally, not Winnipeg Jets related, but last night was the premiere of HBO 24/7 Flyers vs. Rangers Road to the Winter Classic. My take is that it Episodes 2-4 need way more Bryzgalov. If you haven’t checked it out yet, I strongly recommend it. You can watch the preview by clicking the link, and Episode 1 should be up shortly. [HBO]
