Some Incomprehensible Analysis of John Carlson and Karl Alzner

I don't really even understand what this post is getting at. Karl Alzner was 21st in quality of competition this year for the Caps and he was 22nd last year. And he rode the pine in the playoffs. Why are we talking about him being a defensive stalwart? Carlson seems to be further along in his development, but DGVT doesn't seem like the best way to evaluate a defenseman who put up 39 points in 48 games in the AHL, primarily at age 19.
