Mark Chipman displays the double fists of joy after Zach Bogosian earned the Winnipeg Jets a 5-4 shootout victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs
It took ten rounds of mostly dreadful shootout attempts before Winnipeg Jets' defenseman Zach Bogosian raced towards Toronto Maple Leafs net minder James Reimer before slowing ever so subtly at the top of the circles before roofing a shot past the goaltender's shoulder with a deft flick of his wrist . Then, something magical happened.
Mark Chipman emoted.
For a mild-mannered businessman such as Chipman, this celebration is the equivalent to funnelling three beers before taking off your pants, donning a lampshade on your head and running around a house party screaming "I AM THE LIZARD KING!!!"
Props also go out to co-owner David Thomson for his weird rendition of what appears to be a hug. It's as though he felt the 1.21 gigawatts coursing through Chipman's veins, giving him a shock so intense that it nearly sent him into full on paralysis before he was separated from the embrace by the happiest looking guy in the Air Canada Centre.
