As first reported by Ed Tait of the Winnipeg Free Press, Kyle Wellwood will be scratched by Claude Noel in favour of recent waiver acquistion James Wright.

Noel cited fatigue as his reason for scratching Wellwood, a tactic the will no doubt create some unrest with the #TeamWelly fanclub.

For Washington, Eric Fehr will be scratched from the Capitals third line as he will have to wait a little longer to exact his revenge on the Jets' -- the team who employed his services last season.

Braden Holtby was the first goalie off the ice for the Caps this morning, signaling he will get the start tonight. Ondrej Pavelec will go again for the Jets despite a woeful back-to-back record last season.
