Evander Kane injured; will not return against Philadelphia Flyers

Bruce Fedyck-USA TODAY Sports

As if Winnipeg's poor start wasn't enough, they'll now have to finish the game without Evander Kane.

Winnipeg Jets' forward Evander Kane suffered a first period injury in today's matinee against the Philadelphia Flyers. He will not return due to what's being described by the team as a lower-body injury.

The Jets' currently trail the Flyers 2-0 midway through the second period. We will offer further updates on Kane's injury should he miss extended time.
